With the aim of strengthening human resources in tourism and based on the approved project “Cross-border HIstorical Theme Route of Noble families” acronym “HITRoute”, approved on the call for proposals of the Cross-border Cooperation Program INTERREG VA Hungary – Croatia 2014-2020, Tourist Board of the city of Virovitica, as a partner in the project, organized the seminar and taking the professional exam for the new 10 tourist guides for the area of the City of Virovitica and the county.
Today, on that occasion, at the Virovitica University of Applied Sciences, which conducted the training, a total of 27 certificates of passing the professional exam for a tourist guide were distributed. The remaining 17 were financed by the Virovitica-Podravina County Tourist Board. Recall, the total value of this EU project of cross-border cooperation Interreg with neighboring Hungary is 399.681,37 euros, made by the Development Agency VTA, the lead beneficiary is the City of Virovitica, and the beneficiaries are the City of Szentlőrinc and the Tourist Board of the city of Virovitica.
As part of the project, will be made the reconstruction of the Historic garden and square in front of the church of St. Rok in Virovitica modeled on the historical appearance with all the elements prescribed by the conservation profession, will establish a new cross-border route of the theme of noble families, will educate tourist guides, will make brochures and promo videos and hold medieval events.
